At the June 15, 2013 “A Nightmare to Remember” international horror film festival, Jason Dube (artist, writer, and publisher of Scattered Comics) was honored for his support of the horror industry and his new horror/action comic book “Shadow Hunters“.
Miss Misery who is the host of this annual event which shows 20 minute and under Horror shorts. They have guests, prizes, Raffle for the audience, awards for the top three films and the first 20 people in line get a blood bag filled with goodies!!! This year they celebrated It’s six year of spotlighting and showcasing independent horror films.
“Shadow Hunters” artist, Calvin Ellis Jr., who is starting his work on the series beginning with issue #3, accompanied Dube to the event to promote and showcase the new “Shadow Hunters” comic book artwork and promote the up-coming “Shadow Hunters” film teaser release by Wolfgang Meyer. Together the two of them went onstage to both except the award and talk a bit about the horror comic book. Jason Dube’s reaction was that of surprise and honor as he graciously accepted the award and thanked all those who support independent horror films , Miss Misery and the entire Last Doorway Productions crew as well and those who support independent comic books. Industry photographer and podcast host Oscar Benjamin was there in support and took beautiful photograph portraits of all the celebrities and guests. (And who generously gave us permission to use some of those photos for this article). The entire evening was definitely “A Nightmare to Remember”.
